All hands on deck for this summers pirate themed jewelry making class! Have you ever wanted to make your own skull & cross bones medallion? A kraken belt buckle ? Or have an idea for your very own design on a coin?
This serious fun camp for 4th and 5th graders is designed to let you experience a sense of adventure while learning traditional metal-smithing techniques. Join in to create sea worthy pieces ranging from embelished copper “treasure” coins, to a swashbuckling belt buckle, to hoop earrings, or a coveted medallion necklace that will be the envy of any ship’s captain.
You will learn how to safely use metal working tools including: planishing hammers, riveting hammers, texturing hammers, jeweler’s saws, rough and fine files, hand drill, stamps, dapping blocks, bench vise, bench anvil, scribe, sanding sticks, pliers, cutters, and punches. Please Note: Fine motor skills required.
